Review on ๐Ÿ›น MINORITY 40-inch Drop Trough Deck Longboard Skateboard: Ideal for Smooth Cruising Rides by Gary Ferguson

Buy one deck replace the rest

TL;DR {This is far from the top of longboarding but I think it's a decent board for beginners who don't want to pay ยฃ150, to see if they are enjoying the sport or learning. The best options when accessibility is an issue are the Landyachtz Monkey or the Landyachtz Tug. And for Talos' sake, please don't give up. It lands easily on the ground, cannot make fast turns and jumps very badly.} Update 09/09/2018 {The board died while jumping (to get over a crack). I partially suspect it was because I mounted it on top and had angled risers. Rather than buying another one, I settled on an aluminum Yocaher deck that costs the same as the whole thing. After riding the Beercan Rootbeer Sharkwheel Edition with purple Caguamas, I found that metal suited my needs better. I mostly ride cross country and mostly flat roads. Worst case with aluminum boards I have to buy more griptape and bearings, if I got caught in the rain they are less prone to tearing and if the tape doesn't peel off it's physically impossible to peel off. They also take a beating because they're metal and all, and they have a nose guard. Also, I can jump on them without worrying about hurting them. To be honest I jumped on it several times and it died after a lot of abuse. I jumped cracks, pumped, and went up and down curbs. Just a note, if you are a heavier rider I would recommend a Beercan board which can handle up to 300-350 (some reports up to 500) or a Yocaher which can handle up to 275. If you have a light butt, this board will do.}//end update 09sep2018Update 17AUG2018{Now I'm in love with this board. Why? Because I mounted it on top, some Orangatang Caguama 85mm/80a, Zealous Green bearings and some Dime Bag wedges (extra, I had a spare so I put them in here for fun), loosened the bogies and oh sweet talos. That's a beast. The deck is actually ok, just the rest of the kit (no bushings) sucks. I wouldn't ride it downhill anyway, but it's pretty damn cool for city riding. Very responsive. The spring force, which I hated so much at first, helps absorb the terrible vibrations from bad roads. The feeling is very smooth. So my new approach is to buy a board, throw wheels at a bunch of spares, maybe give some kids bearings for their spinners, and then buy some Caguamas and good bearings to dominate the streets. While I wouldn't go down without buying quality trucks, I would definitely buy again just for the deck. Now he feels complete. I feel good I feel good.} Old defunct review{This is my first longboard and I didn't touch skateboards much as a kid so I don't know what to expect. Pros: Decent board for the price. bearings are good. At least as far as I've seen. On the same day I replaced them with Zealous Greens which are amazing. The forest design on the bottom is pretty awesome. A bit faded, and it would be better if it caught fire by swallowing a helicopter or something. The griptape is almost like super glue for my boots. It has also been sensibly put on with minimal care due to unfortunate cuts. Cons: Experience a brutal rail bite even after messing around with trucks. Came with cracks. Not bad enough to yell at the seller but it was still a wtf moment. But given the fact that the boards are abused, this isn't really a problem. Most of time. The trucks creaked but were quickly repaired with soap shavings. The board flexes insanely easily for someone my height. I weigh 200 pounds and accidentally put a foot in front of the center of the board and it fell off while riding. I've seen answers to other reviews/questions about 325lb and 260lb people running down the trail on them and thought that would hold me back. It is, but it looks like a trampoline. The board also accidentally threw me forward. I didn't see any rocks or too much forward lean. I think it's because the stones got caught on the bottom of the board. I converted it to a top mount board and it has never happened again and I have never had this problem on my Landyachtz Drop Carve. Finally the wheels turn, they vibrate. They do it even when I tighten them. Other wheels I have mounted on it do not. Is this a good longboard? It depends. I would really target this at people who are either not sure if skateboarding is fun for them or just want to spend grandma's money on something to look cool or edgy. But for those who have already invested, buy them a Landyachtz or similar. Seriously, my drop carve is the epitome of love.}
