Review on Enhance Marine Performance with Taylor Made Products' Stainless Steel Replacement Gas Shocks by Chris Burks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Does what it's supposed to do

Spring was about $18 less than OTC. I bought these SS gas jacks to hold the rod locker doors on my Everglades 243. My only real complaint is that there are NO INSTALLING INSTRUCTIONS ANYWHERE. It took us about an hour to install the first one after we figured out how it was supposed to work. The second lasted 10 minutes! The advantage of nylon tips is that they do not corrode; The downside is that they are brittle and can break when snapping in and removing the fasteners. I went to Enco products and bought 4 replacement end caps. SS mounting hardware isn't cheap either, at around $40 (West Marine). I will try to download the final install.

Pros
  • Item package weight: 0.14 lbs
Cons
  • The list would be long.
