Based on the negative reviews I was a little apprehensive about ordering this chair but I ordered it anyway and am glad I did. I needed a new desk chair and on a college student's budget this fitted the bill. I received the chair in solid black fabric and frame and it's great. The only small issue is that some of the wood has minor damage, but the damaged area is on the underside of the hinge on the armrests. So when the chair is assembled with the fabric you can't see it, but before it was assembled I could see it. Since it is not visible, I still gave 5 stars. Also the little cushions on the legs of this chair are great, I really appreciate that they installed non-scratch legs! They're thick and screwed on, they're not those little chopsticks on felt pads! I also have a barstool height Pier One director's chair and I'd say it's very comparable for the same quality. The only difference is that the Pier One chair has more details but I would say they are just as solid.
