Review on πŸ›€ Innovative Eastman 35233 Lift-n-Turn Bathtub Drain: 1-1/2-inch Strainer & Stopper with Chrome Finish by Samuel Browning

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Must not sit on gasket and cause leaks.

I bought this to replace a broken drain on an RV. Structurally, it looks good and has thicker walls than what it replaces. When I installed it, it leaks. I disassembled it, made sure everything was ok, put it back together, but it's still flowing. I compared the bottom of this to the bottom of the old one and the threaded bottom of the new one forms a ridge while the bottom of the old one had a flat part about 3/16 inch that abuts the gasket. The edge of the new one barely touched the outside edge of the gasket and didn't provide a good seal. After much experimentation, using sanitary grease (not sanitary putty) solved the problem. Note that the floor must fit against the gasket, this floor doesn't have a flat edge like some other designs for a good seal.

Pros
  • βœ…VERSATILE APPROACH. Bathtub accessory or replacement that fits easily into most bathtub drains. Adjustment holes in the brass bracket allow for quick installation.
Cons
  • Hard to say
