Only suitable for clean water and not for ponds.
This pump is designed for clear water and not suitable for ponds as the water inlet is on the bottom below. I replaced the bottom cap with one, removed the other faulty pump and it works fine now, although the flow seems a bit less than the previous pumps. The price is cheap so I just order a new one instead of sending it back. These pumps typically last 6-8 months and we run them about 8 hours a day. We filter through a large underground OASE filter.
