occurred immediately. Some info on this item, I replaced an item in a 6 gallon water heater in my trailer. The photos I posted show the new and old elements and the rod I used to measure the depth of the water heater. As you can see the new element is longer than the old BUT the stem is dependent on the depth of the tank so the longer element in the tank is not an issue. I know there are many questions about the longer element, but the longer one works great. Also, a 1 1/2" THIN WALL outlet is required to remove and install this item. You will also need to move the gas line to get to the item. This is an easy fix, just make sure you turn off the trailer, turn off the switch and relieve the water pressure before you get to work I think that covers the project so good luck and stay safe.
