The pictures did not oversell this at all. Admittedly I have a very nice fluffy goose down duvet which definitely helps, but imo this looked just as great in person as it did in pictures. I got the dark green color and it was the exact shade of deep blue leaning green I wanted. I washed as it directed before putting it on the bed and the process of putting it in the washer and dryer didn't damage it at all.Sleeping under this thing is incredibly luxurious. I do not think this will be as long lasting as a good cotton duvet cover would be but I love it so much I don't think I care.Edit: it’s now been more than a year and a half and I’ve had it on my bed pretty much the whole time and it still looks great. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve washed it and I don’t notice much, if any damage to the fiber. The zipper did break over the summer (I take out the filler in the summer and use it as a thin blanket) but for me that is not a deal breaker. I may install a new one or I might just pin it closed. The last picture shows what it looks like after a year and a half of use.
