Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for both experienced seamstresses and beginners.

This is not a book to sit down in and read from cover to cover. This is a beautifully illustrated guide. I'm already a seasoned seamstress with a lot of experience and I still managed to pick up some ideas that were new to me and remembered some very useful shortcuts I used in the past but forgot. Great memories! Sewing is not a "clean and tidy" hobby and I am not a "clean and tidy" person. I've found some great tips for organizing and keeping your sewing space organized and tidy enough to be functional. To make things easier, most seamstresses compile a plethora of gadgets to help them ditch the "homemade by loving hands" look and create a professional-looking product. For example, sewing machine feet. You can have a dozen or more, each with a specific purpose. Hence the need for organization. There's nothing more frustrating than knowing you have exactly what you need but can't find it. It's buried under a pile of patterns, bushels of literature, scraps of fabric, etc. in there somewhere. This book is full of solutions to this problem, some of which I have used for many years and some of which are unique and original. the authors of this book. All are helpful.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

It was supposed to be brand new, but there was a name inside the cover that was erased.
