We keep fish. And we all check the tank temperature every day to make sure the heaters are still working. And we use more than one heater to place bets. But then we install automatic feeders when we go on a well-deserved vacation and come home with a 120-degree tank and a bunch of smothered fish. This device is more complex than the internal thermostat in your heater(s). And i love it. The setup takes a bit of getting used to but once you get past it the unit works - make sure you calibrate it with a reliable thermometer - mine was accurate but you should still check and calibrate its accuracy. Step. Now that it's running my tank temp stays within the calibrated range - so much peace of mind. I CHECK MY TANK EVERY DAY but so far this controller is so much better than the internal thermostats on my tank heaters. And the temperature display on the device is so easy to read, which is great for older eyes.
