Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Honda Genuine 08200-9007 Dual Pump II Differential Fluid: Top-Performing Fluid for Enhanced Transmission Efficiency by Nick Singh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

DO IT YOURSELF AND SAVE $$$. My dealer charges $159 + 8% sales tax for a rear differential oil change.

Disclaimer first: I'm retired, my wrenches are above average, I don't have a shop - I do everything in my 2 car garage, and I don't need to lift my Honda Pilot to do the change rear differential fluid. Step number 1, watch a YouTube video. Step #2: Buy genuine Honda differential fluid and washers from AMAZON for less than you can get them from a Honda dealer. Step number 3: If you don't have one, buy a liquid transfer pump from AMAZON or the X Brand store for about $10. Step number 4. Watch the YouTube video while waiting for the goods to be delivered. Step #5, get the job done. Lasts a maximum of 30 minutes, including a coffee break while the liquid drains. I used a torque wrench when tightening the diff plugs - 35 ft.lbs. Also, the floor in my garage has a slight incline, so I ran my rear wheels in two 2x8s - the unintended result of more room underneath to work. By the way, this is MUCH easier than changing the oil - there's no filter to mess with. Summary: Bought 3 qts. Liquid $45, shredders, I forgot, $5 maybe and I bought a transfer pump for $10. Total = $60 + retirement time as I think a lot of people are behaving right now - you know COVID-19 at home. last note; There is no low differential fluid warning light like there is for low oil. So if you are unsure about your job, don't do it.

Pros
  • Resistant to breaking at high temperatures
Cons
  • Waiting too long
