That's a great idea. We live on the RI coast which is prone to hurricane/wind damage. I bought them as a means of transportation to tie our stuff down on our outside decks. I haven't had a chance to use them but I think they will do the job. One observation: I received them with a black finish that goes pretty well with our house color. They have been in the sun for about a month and the black finish is now bronze. Use the best coating as suggested by the manufacturer.
