Started out as a headache. I need internet in a remote location and I figured this should work. I bought an at&t sim card from bestbuy and when the router arrived I was able to activate the sim card online. They asked for the router's IMEI number, and although they didn't recognize the device, I was able to activate the SIM card without any problems. So I activated the card and paid for the 3GB prepaid plan for $25. I plugged it into the router, turned it on, but it doesn't work. Check out the instructions for the router, it's very poorly written in English (probably a rough translation from Chinese). It's hard to understand but I was able to figure out how to log into the router and change the APN. I have been using the NXTGENPHONE APN, broadband and phone, and every time the router comes online, but when I open my browser I get a message from at&t that I have no data available on my data plan. So I thought maybe this is an AT&T problem. After a few days and a few calls and chats with ATT I find out that my "data only plan" is not compatible with hotspots (makes no sense to me). Of course there is no return, even though it's only been a day and I haven't used any data. I have to pay another $35 for a compatible plan. ATT on the phone did not help. They couldn't even tell me that my plan was incompatible with using hotspot, I found it on a forum on the internet. When I paid for the new plan, the hotspot worked almost immediately. I put a SIM card in the phone and I get about 7Mbps. It's as good as my home internet so I'm happy with that. I live in Idaho where the internet is slow. So far the router has worked fine when I have the right plan. The Wi-Fi signal isn't as strong as my home internet router, but works fine. One star deducted for lack of Yeacomm support and very poorly written instructions.
