When I was researching axes at Revain I decided not to save money and buy the $20 versions and instead spend a few bucks more and buy this kit. While I love the product I had an issue with the hatchet carving as shown in my photos. I couldn't screw bits more than 1/8 inch into the ax head. I was determined to get it working as returning items to a UPS store was out of the question this time of year. I would thread the knob up and down each time, oiling it and finally cleaning the threads a bit. I finally finished it but couldn't get it off so I had to use channel locks and a rag to avoid scratching the product. I failed as you can see in the photos and also cut the calluses on my hands. I hope to be able to screw the hatchet in and out when the time comes when I really need it. On the plus side, I think it's a really cool product with a lot of accessories. Perhaps the company would like to send me a new ax head with handle attachment?
