Review on Sony ICD B7 Digital Voice Recorder by John Rocha

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Sony very disappointing

I am really disappointed with the quality of this Sony product. Normally Sony has pretty good products but this one is really a piece of junk. It's advertised as a dictaphone for lectures and meetings, and as a student I thought it would help me take better notes. Not correct! This voice recorder can only record sound straight from your mouth into a microphone at close range, but if you're interested in anything other than your own voice, you're out of luck with this model. I tried this out in one of my lectures - the lecture was held in a small windowless room in the basement of the library (it doesn't get any quieter than that!), and the recorder managed to garble every word the professor said to make it an amazing amount of roaring noises that appeared to be either higher or lower than human hearing because it doesn't seem to exist in the real world! Sony should be ashamed! Please, if you are going to buy a voice recorder for lectures or meetings, don't buy it!
