This little voice recorder is great for EVP. I'm so glad I got it back when it was around $60. I think a lot of ghost hunters know this little guy and will use him for just that. Anything else isn't worth the money.

The product itself is so-so. It has sufficient battery life and recording time. But the quality of the sound recording can sometimes be unsatisfactory. However, if you connect a phone with an external microphone instead of the built-in microphone, the situation will be much better. I think it's good enough for light users.

I bought one of these probably a year or two ago and at the time the 150 minute capacity was far superior to anything else in this price range. I bought it specifically to evaluate mystery shopping and it did a good job about 80% of the time. Sometimes there is too much background noise to understand what is being said. I am really disappointed with the quality of this Sony product. Normally Sony has pretty good products but this one is really a piece of junk. It's advertised as a dictaphone for lectures and meetings, and as a student I thought it would help me take better notes. Not correct! This voice recorder can only record sound straight from your mouth into a microphone at close range, but if you're interested in anything other than your own voice, you're out of luck with this model.
