Review on Capresso 485 05 10 Cup Programmable Thermal by Sally Reynolds

We have had the MT500 for over 12 years. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end when 500 fails. I ordered the 600 with some trepidation based on the reviews. Don't worry, the machine works just as well as the MT500 and the decanter system has been greatly improved! No more dripping when I take out the carafe in the middle of a cycle! When turned, the lid snaps into place with a pleasant click. The only issue I had was that the unit would not lay flat on the countertop when new. A little research and I noticed that the crescent-shaped plastic tail on the back of the device's base, which I believe keeps it from tipping backwards, wasn't exactly flat. So I took a sharp knife and cut off the bottom edge a bit and now the device fits perfectly. So there's a quality control issue, but don't worry, it's minor and the coffee maker is rock solid. The time display has changed from LED (or similar) to LCD. It is in order. The duty cycle seems a little louder than I'm used to, with a lot more gurgling noise. I can't imagine why. All in all a delicious coffee, works as usual and we are happy about our new Capresso!
