First, one of the circuit boards I received had a definite open circuit and was not working. A quick visual inspection and soldering and the board is now working properly. Aside from that, I've used these boards in an unconventional way, I've used them to control some PWM computer fans. Not to power the fans like this device is intended, but to send a PWM signal (pin 4) to the fans so there is a linear response to fan speed relative to knob rotation. Simply power the board with 12V and connect the PWM pin of the fan to the MOTOR pin. DO NOT use MOTOR+ as this will damage your fan, the contact is only rated for 5V not 12V. Works fine even if it's not quite the correct fundamental frequency.
