These racks are very durable. Some cast metal. Difficult. The base is heavy and durable. But when setting up, be prepared that they will be installed forever. Part of the reason I got them is that the stand and base have been disassembled for more compact storage. I use them for location shoots and go to different locations every weekend. After a single use, one of the microphones had a screw left on the stand. That means I either had to pry it out with pliers or just walk around. After 3 uses, both mics now retain the top screw. I'm no bigger fan than my fan that my $100+ mics get stuck with threaded screws after 3 uses. If you never tear, that's fine. Otherwise be careful
