A friend takes care of 12 possums without a mother. They love to pack everything together to keep warm. You LOVE this thing. They could ALL be on top for a while, as they got bigger both layers were needed. Sometimes someone almost fell out, it was so crowded! It does stretch a bit, but wouldn't if 1 or 2 pets could sleep in it. One of them contained at least 12 pounds. I ordered a second one, but soon it was time to run into the woods. By then some were nearly 3#, only 20+ pounds. They gnawed through an eyelet and tore it off the fabric a little, but they treated it very cruelly. The top bed was a little faded, probably because it was scratched, but the fabric is really strong and durable. Very impressed with it! They completely ignored the small size I received.
