Review on πŸ§₯ Alpinestars Bionic Tech V2 Protection Jacket Black/Red Lg – Reliable & Versatile Multi-Size Unisex-Adult Gear by Daniel Ogbebor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wow, that's the armor I'm talking about!

Update: After several hundred kilometers on mixed asphalt and off-road in 90f+ summer heat I can recommend this reinforced compression shirt. I was thrilled that I had much better airflow through my armor and still felt very well protected. The armor held up over the roughest terrain and even on a slow start as I underestimated the slow choke where soft fluffy fine dirt filled a big hole I just accidentally changed direction into - down, I fell - btw. I weigh about 200 pounds, or about 220 pounds with my ADV summer suit and this armor. I jumped up, grabbed my GSA and continued on my way unharmed. Which brings me to an interesting point that one of the top ADV drivers once told me. relaxed, even in the event of a fall, so that there is no injury from impact OR muscle and/or connective tissue strain - that's right! I got hot while resting in 90f+ degrees, but still felt the honeycomb armor ventilation was vastly superior to my previous heavy CE2 or better compression shirt worn over armor with a Leatt Summer MX jacket. Also note that I wore my heavy ADV jacket over this armor and although I had less freedom of movement I found the BT v2 still worked well during an early morning 45 degree ride in just thin , dense spandex and polyamide still felt comfortable. a long sleeve compression shirt underneath an Alpinestars Bionic Tech 2 armored shirt and a 4 season ADV jacket over it. with a different thermal layer, maybe switch to a thermal base layer as well, I'm pretty sure I'll be comfortable when I'm 30 - quality armor is SO worth the money (within reason of course) - safe, comfortable rides for one and all! First Review: I just got this new Armor Compression Shirt or Jacket if you prefer - I'm a bit of a hardcore ADV rider so I'll take my 600lb R1200GSA seats which a lot of people find too big - hence I took a lot of off-road crashes but both me and my car caught up, dusted me off and kept moving. I usually have a Lightweight Armor Pack, which is an armored woven shirt that I have fitted with very specific armor types on the elbows, shoulders, back and chest - the main purpose of this super light but protective shirt is light weight with at least CE level 1st or better, so carefully chosen armor - I also have a long range heavy armor option, CE level 2 or higher - my old heavy armor compression shirt had big shoulders, elbows and a D30 back with back armor with a extra layer of impact resistance, as well as a basic chest protector which probably wasn't quite CE Level 1 but does the job - enter the new Alpine Stars BT v2 - immediately impressed with the seriously thought out design and engineering! This compression shirt is thin but strong, the armor is strong but very well ventilated - I don't know the rating for this but I bet it would be well above CE level 2 if there was a standard for ventilation that high. The rear guard is really long, about below the 4th vertebra and just above the tailbone - yes, it looks like it offers the best coverage I've seen! The shirt is easy to put on, albeit snug, and everything seems to be in place. As with all Alpinstar products of this nature, expect them to be a size larger than you and remember that the armor works best when it's fairly tight (not too tight obviously). If you fall you definitely do NOT want the inner armor to wriggle around and move away from the critical areas it is designed to protect! I'm 6ft 1in and have less than average muscle mass. I bought the size XL and found it perfectly suited my fit requirements, barely causing any discomfort anywhere, in fact it's surprisingly comfortable, even more so than my worn heavy armor. I really suffered a bit. To get which shirt I looked at Leatt models which also looked well designed but ended up going with this one from Alpinestars. It's also about the same weight as my previous heavy armor, so I'm not worried about that. Keep in mind that this was probably designed for MX, Enduro, 6 Days, Desert, Hare Scrambles, etc., but for us avid ADV riders it makes a lot of sense, especially when we're doing questionable things like: B. exploring remote areas where we have NO cell service, no GPS signal, or maybe we're moving too fast through a mountain pass - I know none of us NEVER do that, but it's still worth mentioning! upside down, knocked out of the park next to you. As for durability, time will tell, but it's looking pretty good, so it's probably good in that area too.
