EDIT – I only used curlers on one side, yes a slight curl but this time I used mascara. The lashes curled in one eye at first, and on the other I just used my old replacement L'Oreal Voluminous Original mascara with a curling brush. NO DIFFERENCE! You look the same. So just use mascara with a curling brush. Then they switched to the same silicones somewhere along the way? black pads and just, well NO. VERY useless. WHY do people ruin a good thing? Anyway, I've tried expensive hair curlers and found that they don't work much better, if at all. Decided to try Covergirl after reading the reviews. THAT reminds me of an old Maybelline! ADVANTAGES: RUBBER, no black silicone pad! WORKS MUCH BETTER than CURL - of course I want my lashes to look a lot better after using it, but I'm turning 70, my lashes aren't as thick as they were 20, 30, 40 years ago so best thing i can hope is what - a curl. I have some but not much. WORK - Yes, you have to PRESS DOWN and hold the curlers for about 20 counts, pump the rollers up and down a few times and then PRESS DOWN and hold for another 20 counts, but I DID curl my lashes a bit, which I still do have, and it hasn't torn them or compressed my skin! It helps. I've been using an eyelash curler for about fifty years and am comfortable with it. CONCLUSION: Yes, it works better than Maybelline, but that's not saying much. Since my curling brush side of my mascara was no different than the curling side, I'll just skip this step. I see no difference and it's easier on the lashes (which I still have).
