This is the smallest and simplest clockwork toy I have ever seen. The mechanical parts are amazingly simple: three gears, a spring, a regulator and a key. Wind it up and it takes off, charging forward on its four tiny legs and then leveling off at a more reasonable pace. (Think of it as Bonga's hyperactive little sister.) He only walks about a foot before exhausting himself, but that's forgivable given his size. And remember, this thing is tiny. If you don't count the key, you only get about an inch of a clockwork toy from front to back. It's not as fragile as the instructions suggest (kikkerland makes quality goods), but even so, you still have to consider spending ten bucks on a midget movement. For me, it was so. It was worth just looking at its tiny size and how incredibly simple the mechanism makes it a manic race. Isn't that the point of toys?
