I actually love these little Kikkerland animals. But I'm afraid the bad reviews for this product are true. It looks like there are two problems. First, the clockwork motor isn't powerful enough to power the Le Pinch on a flat surface, let alone climb over a small object. Two years later the kids are still playing with it, although flint sparks do wear out after so much play in the first 6 months or so. This is the smallest and simplest clockwork toy I have ever seen. The mechanical parts are amazingly simple: three gears, a spring, a regulator and a key.
