Well, if you're looking for something to protect your pen from paper, like a screen protector, then this is for you. But it has its downsides: sometimes when you're writing or drawing, your pencil suddenly stops writing and drawing, and it seems like you're not touching the screen anymore. But just press a few times and it should work again. It's a bit bulky and when you draw, you will find it a little difficult to draw details because you can't see where the tip of the pen is. I've had my pencil tips for a few months now and I'm still using my first one, it's not cracked or worn out, stays on the pencil and never slips off. This only happens when you want it to. If you draw more than you write, I suggest using it only when drawing. If you write more than you draw, I don't think you'll need it as much. I sometimes write with and without, but since you don't find the grain of the paper a protection, using a nib cover changes your handwriting a bit. But if that's not a problem and your main concern is protecting your pencil, then this is for you.
