I've been playing with these cameras for about a week now. I also have Arlo Pro cameras, so my conclusions are based on what I like/dislike versus them. My conclusion: The processing quality of these cameras seems to be very good. The body is solid and made of metal, not cheap plastic. The Wi-Fi range is excellent, but when you're within range you'll get expected poor results. See recommended software improvements below. The video quality is excellent day and night. Motion detection is excellent but limited when not on the cloud. It is quite necessary to purchase a cloud subscription to make these cameras useful as security/video recording cameras. I'm also not sure how much onboard memory these cameras have. See software improvements below. The power cord is a bit bulky/difficult to hide. It's good that there's ethernet connectivity, which is why the power cord is so bulky, but I wish there was a good way to hide it. Maybe an extra large mounting plate? - The power cord is a bit short, about 6 feet. Because it is an AC adapter plug, it is difficult to modify or get a longer cable. It would be better if you could buy the USB power plug in a long length (I used 20ft for my Arlo). - No microphone on the camera so no sound recording or listening during live view - No speaker function so I can't talk to people during live view. Overall the hardware is great, the software needs improvement. Software improvements that make this camera the best in the range: - Separate alarm (phone notifications) and motion sensor. I want to enable motion detection for video recording, but I don't need alerts/notifications to my phone every time. Non-cloud based motion video recording has a limit of 11 seconds until motion stops! So only 11 seconds of video is recorded even if motion continues and no continuous 11 second video is made. So if a movement like a robber moves in front of the camera for 1 minute, you will only get the first 11 seconds of this video. We need the ability to record more than 11 seconds before motion stops, like in the cloud. Also not sure how much memory is in this camera? - Cloud videos have no 11 second limit but are difficult to watch. They must be in the same format as the alert section. They are shown as a temporary table rather than video clips, so you'll need to know what time period the video you want to view was in, or look at each captured event to find the video you're looking for. It would be much more convenient to display thumbnails of moving images captured with a timestamp next to the video, just like "Warning" videos. - WiFi signal strength should be displayed for each camera. How do I know if my Wi-Fi connection is good enough/reliable? I installed one of the cameras far away from the router and it connected well but stopped working after a while. If you turn off the device, it works again, but it randomly stops and doesn't record video. It shows "online" but I can't get it to play live video.
