This model is three times louder than the MC2 I was trying to replace. It feels a lot cheaper and the glide is poor in comparison. My MC2 is over 20 years old and still works great (needs a blade change) and honestly this clipper feels like a waste of money. The adjustment range is too small and the design of the head does not allow adjustment. It's very loud and changes tone when you change the grip, which is pretty poor build quality in my opinion. The guides and combs are extremely cheap compared to the setup that came with my MC2 and there is no speed adjustment tool or ability to adjust blade depth. It also gets pretty hot in your hand (not the blades, but the body of the clipper itself gets hot. You can't handle a normal buzz without some serious heat. All in all, I'd only buy this if you just want a cheap clipper , which lets you explore the basics
