I had an elite body shop with 11 employees for 20 years. I've spent thousands of hours behind the buffer over the years. My forte used to be painting with gloss paint. Using a 2400rpm fender with a lambswool hood would give you that shine people were talking about. I am currently not carving 600 grit scratches from a fresh finish, something that takes the form of a work of art rather than just a random technique. Having a combination of random orbit and a variable speed rotating hood is a huge benefit. It's much easier to control and doesn't tend to snag on the edges and burn through. You always want to shoot from the top up, not dig in. The kit includes a charger and a battery, which is enough for several hours of work. If you plan to work with it a lot, I would suggest a second battery so you can charge one while you work with the other. The battery comes with 2 out of 3 bars for the state of charge. As such, this is a very handy, lightweight polisher that will more than adequately handle the weekend warrior project. It comes with multiple types of polishing heads that can be attached with Velcro for easy on and off. The kit includes a detachable side handle and a final wipe. I really like that it's wireless. All in all very recommendable.
