They're solidly built and the best part is that both devices share the same buttons. I want to protect my investment and protect my boat from theft. I know some have complained that the locking plate block is easy to crack. Weigh Safe changed it from a hex screw to a powered pin, here's what it looks like. Someone said it can be easily hacked with a drill. Come on guys, if a man wants to steal it, he'll figure out how to do it. My solution to holding them back a little longer was to simply seal the holes with clear silicone caulk. If someone wants to steal it, they have to lie on their back under the truck to get to the back of the locking plate assembly, remove the silicone, drill out the pin and no one will come and ask them what they're doing. It is unlikely that a thief would take such a risk.
