I have a Briggs & Stratton 5500W generation that would start up but then dies after a few seconds. I did some research and checked, but my unit did not have any low oil sensor, so that wasn't the case. I found that I could manually fiddle with the rear choke back and forth repeatedly and quickly and keep it going but it didn't run very good. That lead me to believe it was the carb. I watched some youtube videos on how to clean the carb and the jets. Looking on Walmart for gaskets I came across this replacement part. For the price, I figured why try to clean it (being 15+ years old), when I can replace it for about the same price. The total reviews had 90% being either 4 or 5 stars. Needless to say as the headline states, I put this on and it started first pull, and works great. I'm ready again for the next power outage. So happy I found this.
