If you're willing to buy baking soda and keep rotating it, you might not need this product, but if you just want to fire it and forget it, then this is a great option. You put this in your fridge and don't really have to keep track of it, and it will last for several baking soda purchases. We had an issue with our fridge (it leaked coolant and got hot) and made several packs of strawberries. Mold due to higher temperature. I had it there and couldn't tell any spoilage, ironically because it had picked up all the "unpleasant" smells. If I hadn't had this product I sure would have smelled spoilage a few days sooner but at least it didn't leave a bad smell behind every time I opened the fridge door! I recommend.
