Review on Stained Soldering Station - Weller WLC200 by George Woods

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stop looking - there's one for every stained glass project (and everything else for that matter).

If you're looking for the right soldering iron for your stained glass project, you might be wondering whether you should buy this 100-watt iron with the best vision, or one of the cheap ones at 1/3 the price. I struggled with this decision and chose this product. Wow! Anything else would be a mistake. This thing actually consists of two parts: a stand/controller and an 80 watt iron. Connect the stand to the wall and the iron to the stand. Being able to place a hot iron next to the table is not only nice, variable control is also important. The first time I used it I turned it up to 11. My first joint melted right away, not on solder but on lead. Oops. Then I dialed it down to about halfway so I could melt the solder easily without melting the parts I was trying to connect. Just stop worrying about what to buy and order it already.
