2010 Chrysler Town and Country. At least once a week for the last year or so the car has been randomly illuminated with a Check Engine light code P0456, which is an indicator of a small leak in the exhaust system. Also sometimes gave another error about the gas cap. Most of the information I could find on this problem pointed to either a broken gas cap or a leaking vapor hose next to the gas tank. I decided to try an easier and cheaper fix first and replaced the gas cap. OK, it worked. The error is no longer displayed. It's been about a month now. I don't know what was wrong with the old cover. The rubber ring was fine. The design of the cover is kinda weird, it doesn't feel "tight enough". It just clicks and spins. The new cap feels about the same in that regard. However, the error code is gone and I am satisfied.
