Moving away alone

Someone recommended it to me so I bought it for a solo overland trip two years ago. I've never used it or even tried it, which I probably should have done. It's huge. Your ears will hurt, so be aware. I've recently started hearing what I first thought were crickets in my house. I eventually traced it back to this unit, which was among the other items in the box and intermittently turned off at half volume. It was impossible to stop him, so I left him under a pile of pillows at night so we could sleep. I watched the video on YouTube. Presumably you can open it with a coin to remove the battery. To do this, you need to pull out the stopper and let it turn on at full volume. This morning it was louder, longer and more frequent. Pressing the black button harder didn't change anything. With earbuds and a few different coins I tried to get the battery out. Impossible. I took it to the street and drowned it out with a sledgehammer.
