Firstly, yes the lids are plastic. These reviews are helpful. One of mine broke while assembling. We contacted Kamenstein and they sent us another one, we received it within a week. Be sure to let them know your model and mailing address if you email them about a defect. They have excellent customer service. Secondly, I noticed that no one has written a review on the spices, I ordered 10 the same day we received the spice rack, we received them within a week. Get 10 for $10 shipping. Not bad for a dollar a piece. I would definitely get this as a wedding present or one of my kids leaving home for the first time. Overall I like this grill, it's great for a small family cooking small portions.
