At first when it came out of the box I was less then impressed with this fan. It is very lightweight and I didn't see any switch where you change the speeds. Then I plugged it into the usb hub at my computer, and there is a large square button across the back that you push to turn on, and then push again to change speeds and turn off. This tiny little fan moves a LOT of air. On the lowest speed it's perfect for anything up to about 6 feet away. On the highest speed I could feel it across the room. It is adjustable as to blowing Up or Down, so you could mount it on top of a shelf and have it blowing down, or you could put it under your desk and have it blow up. Its really lightweight so I can put it pretty much anywhere and the weight is not going to be too heavy to hold it. Also the cord it comes with is about 5 ft long, so you can plug it into your computer under your desk and still have the fan on top of your desk. Some of these cords are too short to be believed, but this one is good. I think this is going to come in handy, especially when it gets warmer and I don't want to always have the ceiling fan on. Also, since it's easy to direct the flow of air, you can have it just blowing on you, and not scatter your paperwork around or have your post it notes go flying. I think its a good value for the money. I can also use this in my camper, since I have USB ports in there as well, and it's so lightweight I can put it anywhere. I might have to get another one. <g>
