This is a great backpack to take your furry friend with you! I've done it a few times while walking my cat in full costume and chasing Pokemon haha. You'll get lots of compliments and hear lots of excited whispers behind your back, so get ready for more attention than usual :) The product is well designed and looks very durable. Time will tell and I will update as needed. So far, I am very satisfied. A quick note: the straps can be a little tight for any of you in the gym. I have a pack of soft baby harness covers and it helps. The weight of a backpack combined with your furry friend can also lead to back problems on long hikes. Most of the time they don't like that. That's when an expandable bag becomes so handy! Final thoughts here would be to get a pendant for your companion with a small leash. It can be connected with a cable pre-installed in the backpack and your friend will be safe nearby. If you do this, I also recommend attaching a small strap with a clip attached to it somewhere on the backpack. It's light enough for my 4 pound cat to pull a few feet before giving up.
