This very small piece of metal has solved and solved a big problem! This was very "difficult" to install, but maybe it was because my husband and I never had to do anything with a garage door opener other than push the remote and the gate opened? So it was a real challenge to take the outer shell off and then try to find a spare and then remove the broken one and put a new one in the tight space. We originally had a mechanic fix the opener when it stopped working and when he told us which part to replace he didn't bring it. Thought we'd order it and call back to install it? When the part arrived we thought we should at least try to replace it before shelling out another $60 for a service call plus his labor to install it. Not knowing how long it will take? Jump to the end. .we really did it, and now we have a silent, working door opening mechanism! We are so proud!
