Review on 🔥 Kollea Butane Torch with Fuel Gauge & Continuous Flame Lock - Ideal Kitchen Blow Torch for Creme Brulee, Cooking, Baking, Crafts (Butane Gas Not Included) by Debbie Webster

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best buy - I'm satisfied.

What I think you should look for when buying a cooking (or micro or crème brûlée) flashlight: 1. Hand protection (also prevents accidental use).2. Fuel gauge (heavy enough without filling it).3. Adjustable flame handle.4. Don't pay more. Defects. The filling instructions on the Revain description page are much better than the ones that come with it (on the back of the box). 1. When using for the first time, press the filling valve with a small screwdriver to unlock the production and release the remaining fuel and compressed air remaining in the burner. I don't understand why this has to be done at every gas station as suggested in Revane's description.2. Hold the butane tank and nozzle straight in line with the inverted torch. Gently squeeze the butane for five seconds (check the gauge), you may have to repeat it again. I have a hard time discerning the butane content except in bright light. A leak means either a poor fit or an unwillingness to take more (which can sometimes happen after half a fill). This is my biggest problem - most likely I have a defect. Do not pump the fuel can while refueling.3. WAIT 3-5 minutes for the gas to stabilize (warm up) before using, otherwise it may EXPLODE! If, like me, you're stupid to let go of the ignition key long enough for the lock to activate and have to re-ignite, you also have to wait 5 seconds before trying again. or expect disappointment. This is my second biggest problem with the device. Again mostly with stupid me. There appears to be an adjustment knob/screw on the bottom. He didn't move and there's no mention of it. 4. WAIT 5 minutes between uses. Don't fill up when it's hot. A full tank should take around 60 minutes, but that should be on the lowest setting as the highest setting (the only one I use) takes around 8 minutes - enough for three steaks. Not perfect, but I can live with that. Even though this product is rated 4 stars, it is still a best buy as the best costs a lot more. Only use triple purified or better quality butane. Do not use too close to food as the tip plastic can warp which can affect the flow of butane to the burner tip. Spending a lot more money could solve this unlikely potential problem. Remember to use a fireproof surface and you should always wear safety goggles (or at least goggles). Can also be used for plumbing, jewelry, art or just lighting a cigar. Ideal for caramelizing sugar, melting fillings or cheese and roasting vegetables such as peppers. Again, my most common use is to create a Maillard effect on steaks. no bitter taste). hotter is better A better alternative is a chimney starter (see amazon.com/Chimney-Mate-Charcoal-Portable-Diameter-Chimneys/dp/B07QJD152L/ and amazon.com/GrillPro-39470-Chimney-Charcoal-Starter/dp/B000FJU56K/ ). There is no clear winner between these two in my opinion, just different flavors (smokier for a grill starter). It is easier. It can also do a lot more. So I bought this. I'm glad.
