Review on πŸ’§ Alkaline Water Pitcher pH Replenish - High pH Filtered Water Jug for Pure Drinking Water - Long Lasting 1.8L / 61 Oz Water Filter Pitcher by Paula Rodriguez

Good pitcher. Water.Eh.Not So Nice

So, in addition to avoiding bacterial biofilm by avoiding plastic, my main goal in purchasing this pitcher was to improve the taste of tap water. And it was a big failure. It still tasted bad. So I started looking at the filtration system and found that the design prevented it from being effective. If somehow you can't guarantee that all your water goes through the filter bag inside the metal tube, I don't see how this jug can purify all the water it contains. Should You Shake Your Pitcher? Do you turn it around? I have not seen such instructions. This problem probably explains the lack of improved taste. So I decided to break down and eventually buy a Berkey water system that has a filter that forces ALL the water to flow through it to get to the lower chamber. And it tastes GREAT! And their filters last 5 years if you use 3.5 gallons of water a day! So my Berkey filters will probably last about 15 years. So what did I do with the glass I bought you ask? So I removed the center tube and filter bag, and now I pour the Berkey filtered water into a pH Replenish pitcher and keep it in the fridge to keep it cold. Works GREAT as an airtight pitcher. Not as a filter. If I ever want to increase the alkalinity of the water I might check, but from what I've read your body automatically maintains a certain pH level, so alkaline water has no real effect, if any. . But that's another discussion. Anyway, it's a good pitcher, so it wasn't a total waste of money, but that's about all it has, IMO. Edited to add: well after babysitting this jug for a year it broke trying to wash out the garlic smell the water in my fridge had soaked up. Glass is so thin it not only breaks easily but also absorbs odors through the walls despite having a sealed lid. While washing I accidentally tapped the rim of the sink lightly because as I said I'm babysitting it after reading all the other breakdown reports and that tiny faucet blew a big glass hole out of the bottom rim. Waste of money on all levels.
