The texture is papery but effective
It's crumpled like paper but strong enough to easily attach and get the job done. If you want something "out of the ordinary" this probably isn't for you. I just needed something to keep the robot vacuum from walking over the cords. I've already replaced one of the cables underneath (for reasons unrelated to this point) and it was easy. Scissors.
