Getting it all back A few weeks ago I bought a Eufy security kit with a 'home base' and multiple cameras including a wireless doorbell. Setup was effortless, I [connected] their "wireless" video intercom. After installation everything worked without any problems until Homebase started having problems which were later fixed. I found the problem was how they marketed this "tresor" security system. 1.) I always lost all videos/images within 24 hours. . So the homebase doesn't store anything, it seems that the homebase is a proxy for Azure or AWS. If so, the save data should be visible until the owner deletes it, it's not an algorithm. 2.) The alarm system was too simple. No siren, Alexa cannot work as a siren. Just too easy for my needs. Update: Eufy sent a new alarm kit and it works. 3.) Disturbance. Whenever I connect Bluetooth to my 2014 Silverado truck and browse the wireless video intercom, my iPod (iPhone) starts playing music. When I exit the Eufy app, the music stops automatically. I thought there was music coming from the doorbell, but that wasn't true, people's attention was drawn to crackling feedback sounds that went silent after exiting the app. I initially used the word WiFi on their community forum, which causes problems, but it was actually paired with my truck's Bluetooth. See I could do this over and over again with the Eufy app. The wireless doorbell never did a good enough job of taking pictures of people for me. Sometimes I get unrecognizable faces, shoulders, backs, etc. Very inconsistent images. Lighting was great, no reflective noise and doorbell height was as advertised. I wanted the lens to be 180 degrees to the ground but the video soldering was fine. I highly recommend the Eufy wired doorbell, it's a great product. Network: Spectrum 500 MB subscription. 90% of the home is connected to switches, except for a few smaller devices. Router: Tri-band mesh network with two additional satellites and 1 gigabyte modem configured by Spectrum. I've never had bandwidth issues, ever! In fact, the subchannels of the network have never conflicted with entering any nodes. This has been verified multiple times. Infiltration does NOT exist. The burglar alarm system unsettled my wife. In fact, no sirens except from the cameras, and it's not very loud, and the home base joked like a siren. My question: has it ever worked? I expected too much when I bought it; brave how they marketed this product. We, the customers, make purchasing decisions based on advertising, product and packaging reviews. I contacted support and there was some correspondence but the issues still persisted. After returning everything I decided to buy their wired doorbell. And realized I must be fucking clueless because I couldn't find the Sims (memory card slot so I figured maybe it was built into the device. But the next day all the video history was gone again and so was their home base on the 20th. July update: The history of the video is based on individual days that can be viewed in the app.
