The footprint is much smaller than the original lens.
The base footprint is much smaller than the stock lens cap on my 2008 Frontier SE with the chrome bumper, but fits easily. . open square hole. The ones I should have ordered: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZEFSIQ4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. However, judging by the photo, I have to cut the plug to fit the pin to use it. Not a big deal as one of the plugs was so stuck I had to cut it off anyway.
