I took this hair straightener for a month long vacation while traveling to Las Vegas from a tropical island and it made my hair look perfect in any climate. I practiced using it at home for about a week before leaving so I could get used to using it as I needed a bit of practice due to the heating elements being everywhere. A few minor burns happened but I have a short asymmetrical bob so that was to be expected. This little straightener was great and held my hair in place without ever losing grip on the straightener side, although I found the curler side didn't hold my very fine hair at all. Overall I would recommend this product if you are looking for something for travel that works well and fits perfectly in your luggage.
