I wasn't expecting to like them that much but they are pretty cool.
You literally just have to put them on a glass and they stick well. I've used them on wine glasses, plastic glasses, and coffee mugs and they work great with all three. I haven't tested how tight the lid is, but I can usually lift the jar by the handle at the top of the lid by simply placing it on the jar. I will be using them a lot this summer!
