I've been using Vega products for at least 3 years and have spent over 4 figures on their diet and powder supplements in that time. At best, their tastes can be controlled - find the ones you like and stick with them. You can eat delicious vegan food on a regular basis and get a large portion of protein from Vega. I sound like a fan right? So why the 2 star rating? Complete lack of transparency. All plant proteins are susceptible to heavy metal contamination, and most companies test and publish their results publicly or upon request. Partly to comply with California Proposition 65, but also to sell products responsibly and earn consumer trust. However, recent independent reports concluded that Vega has fairly high levels of harmful heavy metals. I wrote to ask for their test numbers and met with resistance.
