I bought it to tint windows. This pad is great for dry shrinking window film (using baby powder, a dryer sheet, or soap to prevent the film from sticking to the glass). With this carpet you will not get any scratches on the foil. It will shed wool fibers/lint so be sure to blow or clean it before applying the film. I wet the pad to see if the lint goes down, but the pad just doesn't work that well and can fall apart or get moldy after a while. I'll probably buy them again when they wear out.
