Lots of problems with computers and accessories

Don't expect this to work without problems. The set is pretty good - all the pieces are there and they all go together nicely. The problem is that you don't always know what to do with them. For example, there is a copper plate and a plastic block with a sticky side that aren't mentioned in the instructions. The plate is for the processor instead of a real heatsink (it would hit the fan), and the block is a standoff that goes over the LAN connector (don't know how to navigate properly - sticky up or down). collected, the real fun begins (sarcasm in case you didn't know). It looks like the Raspberry Pi Foundation has a newfangled way of doing things that worked great but made most of the included instructions redundant. Everything is fine, everything worked for me, but then you need to manually install the drivers for the 3.5 inch screen and that's it. The Pi no longer boots. So I gave up, went to the wiki in the manual and downloaded the preconfigured image. I burned it, enabled SSH, booted it up and...nothing. Not even a hint. Just a blank screen. So I gave up (again) and went back to the super new Raspberry Pi Imager and burned the full "complete" Raspberry Pi OS (2.9GB). This got me back to work but didn't recognize the small screen (I had a full monitor connected via HDMI and a keyboard). Since the official Imager scanner still didn't include SSH, I used the Pi's own interface to enable it. I could then SSH in from my computer and download and install the display driver using the single command from the wiki. Finally I have a fully functional tiny computer with a tiny screen that works as advertised. It was a real struggle to get here and now that I'm here I'm not sure how helpful it will be. I think if the RetroPi image worked I would be happier. It's a good price, just think about the intended application before you buy it.
