The tester is good. It won't break the bank, and when you have the spark, you know you're going to be fine. This eliminates the need to measure sparks etc from other testers. If you don't have a spark and you're grounded properly, you know something is wrong. Before buying, I read several reviews, at least one complained about the spring mechanism that pushes the tester to the specified bottom. In truth, on first use, YES, it fell apart because the spring popped out, but that's only because the clip isn't very large and the spring doesn't have a real groove to press against. In my opinion this is not a problem as it is VERY easy to put back in place and WILL NOT break. In fact, in my case I tested the coil on a 2002 civilian car and it was difficult to mount it on a nearby floor anyway. It worked better without the spring and I just kept it. Nevertheless, I give it 4 stars for this reason. Grounding can be a little tricky depending on the vehicle and engine type. But overall it worked flawlessly and was a quick way to diagnose my misfire. I'd say maybe make a bigger clamp connection in the next version or maybe add a ground extension. All in all a great little device!
