To install something like this in the house we are building. Decided to try a few of our rentals to see what we like before ordering a bunch. This gives off a good amount of light. So much so that my wife covered it with something to block it. I thought everything was fine. I'm still planning on buying some of these as stair step lights. Installed it as a replacement for an outlet in a hallway with a small natural light source to turn it on. It stayed on all the time, even with the evening sun coming through the windows. It may not be suitable for use next to the bedroom. Leviton, if you're listening, I'd pay $20 for one of these with stepless sensitivity and brightness adjustment so I can adjust it to my setup.
