Review on NXTGEN EasyFlow Replacement Filters Without by William Bell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expensive! Expensive launch, Expensive filters, Expensive deeper silicone

Be sure to watch the tube video to learn more about the design and content. I had to look at it before buying and after arriving. It was far more useful than paper instructions. Good design work first - the large surface area is really its strong point. I was looking for a reusable mask with a good seal and the ability to use my own filters. There are other masks that tick those boxes, but they may have their own filter or one-way exhalation valve — no, not during a pandemic. I took off the stars because 1) the price of the filters is quite high. . This is more expensive than single-use NIOSH-N95 prices during the pandemic. 2) I think the exhalation valve is a little useless. The hole on the filter matches the valve and they claim that the exhaled air is filtered. If the parts of the mask are doing their job, the filter needs to be too tight for the valve to open when you exhale. The air will most likely just go through the valve and exit through the filter, not the valve. If the blocking filter were just a hair bigger than the valve, then the valve would actually function as a valve, but again, during a pandemic, no, no. 3) The silicone pieces on the face are too small. When I'm quiet it's a good seal, but when I start talking it leaks. The deeper silicone on their website is way overpriced. You're crazy to want that much money on top of what's already been paid for. Many Thanks. Another mask I've tried that is somewhat similar is the Gill Mask, available from Revain and made in Singapore. Your mask also allows for the use of a generic filter and has no ventilation. However, the surface of this mask is so small, about a quarter of the Nxtgen mask, it is difficult to inhale the Gill Mask, and I appreciate the Nxtgen mask for the surface. Although Gil's mask seals better. I bought Gil's mask first because it's cheaper. If you compare the Gill mask to other masks, you'll see pleated filters or more surface area to not restrict airflow. That's how I came across this Nxtgen mask and I really like the design because of the surface. The problem with a small surface area is that you could increase the pressure over that small area and theoretically push particles through, so the fluid resistance values are pressure related. Actually, that's not a problem with this Nxtgen mask.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging
